Leahi Swim School was founded in 1974 by Lori Komer, a graduate of La Pietra and University of Hawaii at Manoa with a B.A. in Sociology. Lori has been teaching swimming to Hawaii's Keiki since 1972. She is a certified Lifeguard, has training in CPR, First Aid, and is accredited by the National Swim School Association in Infant Aquatics.

"Teaching swimming is part technique, part intuition, part trust and part experience", says Lori. Each teacher is personally hired and trained extensively by Lori. All teachers are Lifeguard - certified by the Red Cross. Each teacher apprentices with a seasoned Leahi Swim School instructor before leading his or her own class.
